As always, shoes are one of our great loves – in fact, they come second only to our affection for bags, and on our sister site christian louboutin sale, they come first. This week, we’ve investigated a particularly pink pair of Lisa Vanderpump’s Casadei kicks, gazed upon Alexander McQueen’s gorgeous Fall 2013 runway shoes and taken a comprehensive look at the upcoming season’s huge designer espadrille (yes, flat espadrilles!) trend. All that and more is waiting for your shoe-shopping pleasure!
Kim Kardashian and her baby bump were recently spotted clad in all black and Balenciaga at LAX after getting off a return flight from Atlanta. Her bag is a black suede Balenciaga Baby Daim City Bag, and her black gladiator sandals are the Givenchy Embossed Rubber Grommet Sandals. While we couldn’t find this exact City bag online, the Balenciaga Baby Daim Classic Velo is available in the same color and material as Kim’s for $1,545 at Barneys. You can also buy Kim’s sandals at Barneys for $280, which seems like a bargain for anything Givenchy, though we have to reiterate that these shoes are made of rubber.
Kim K. has been wearing a ton of black and Givenchy since she hooked up with Kanye West – likely at his behest, of course. Personally, I kind of miss the bright colors and excessive boobage of Kim’s pre-Kanye wardrobe. Am I alone here?
Here’s Lauren Conrad bopping around LA carrying her personalized Goyard St. Louis Tote. Goyard is notorious for its colorful, hand-painted personalizations of course, and it seems every celeb worth their salt has a Goyard in their bag stash. Goyard is only available in the brand’s boutiques and a few high-end department stores, and last we checked, prices for a St. Louis Tote ranged from about $1,100-$1,700, depending on size and color. (This isn’t Lauren’s only Goyard, by the way – you can check out her others in “The Many Bags of Lauren Conrad”!)
If you’re wondering what’s keeping LC busy these days, it’s mainly manning her Lauren Conrad lifestyle website, where she pontificates on topics such as “Are Apples Better than Coffee?” and doles out advice such as, “My Secrets to Looking Sweet, Yet Sexy.” Want to know exactly what Lauren’s craving RIGHT NOW? Her website will tell you that it’s fresh florals. She also has a clothing, shoes, and accessories line at Kohl’s, AND she’s penned several novels!
If you’re only reading PurseBlog, you’re missing out on half the goodies we have to offer. If you thought Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2013 handbags were a trip, you ain’t seen nothin’ until you get a look at the brand’s crazy, sometimes gravity-defying Fall 2013 shoes. Yes, that’s a climbing garden in the sole of that sandal.
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy and you’d prefer something a little more modern, we’ve also rounded up a baker’s dozen of single-sole shoes that should take you straight into spring and maybe even a little beyond.
Sometimes, there’s virtue in not quite matching. Often, I look at people wearing multiple pieces that are obviously from the same collection and see someone that would do well to think a bit harder about how to assemble an outfit. (There are, of course, exceptions.) People who’ve found their stylistic sweet spot often look great because they successfully combine pieces that don’t intuitively belong together. Think of it as slant rhyme for clothing.
In my mind, the Fendi 2Jours Colorblock Tote and the Pierre Hardy Colorblock Suede Sandals have the potential to be one such pairing. Although the colors that occupy both pieces are completely different, the products feel similar. They occupy the same aesthetic space, with their extremely modern lines and tritone constructions. The shoes are brighter and more textured, the tote more neutral and lacking suede’s tactile qualities. With a smart, modern shift dress, for example, both would likely sing in the same key. Only if you have the confidence to pull off such a bold look, though.
